POSITION
Summary:
Carries out the goals and objectives of the IEP/IDP at the direction of the Teacher.
Provides total class, small group and individual instructions as needed.
Assists in the implementation and coordination of instructional, behavior modifications, and related services for children according to the goals of Head Start Performance Standards and YMCA's Child Care Philosophy.
Essential Functions:
Ensures health and welfare and safety of all children enrolled in the class.
Assists children with special needs in all aspects of the Head Start program.
Participates in staff meetings and staff development.
Aides teacher in completion of core knowledge assessments Assists teachers in carrying out activities that are individualized.
Knowledge of individual children's IEPs/IDPs Maintains self-care needs of children (toilet, feeding, etc.
) as needed.
Helps teachers manage the classroom, i.
e.
, schedule, routines, transitions.
Assists in end of the day dismissal procedures (helping children on bus, fastening harnesses) Communicates regularly with the teacher regarding status and needs of the classroom.
Assists in maintaining neat, appealing clean classroom and other center(including bathrooms) Keeps informed on developments in Early Childhood Education.
Assists in administering necessary Head Start screening, where applicable.
Conducts self in a mature professional manner in compliance with YMCA Baltimore County Head Start policies and procedures through behavior, appearance and attitude.
Respects confidentiality of sensitive matters.
Attends and actively participates in Head Start and Core Knowledge trainings to continue professional growth.
Qualifications:
Must obtain a valid criminal background check.
Must have reliable transportation.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information to co-workers, parents and children.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions.
Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Education High School Diploma or GED.
90 classroom hours in Early Childhood Development.
ExperienceMust have a minimum of 1 year experience working with special needs children.
CertificationsMust obtain CPR and First Aid certificate.

) ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate noise level is typical Physically able to successfully complete required job functions (use of hands, arms, fingers, ability to speak/hear, use a computer, sit/stand, regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
