The driver uses good judgment and follows transportation policies and procedures.
The driver strives to provide safety to clients while getting on and off the van and using appropriate assistive methods for clients at risk of falling.
The driver will adhere to the van route, making only approved changes.
The driver will adhere to the preventative maintenance schedule of the vans and notify the Plant Operations Manager when repairs are needed.
The driver will assist with community outings, running small groups, mail runs, vehicle inspections, vehicle maintenance, site maintenance and other duties as assigned.
The driver is responsible for carrying out the mission, philosophy of care and policies of Community Behavioral Services.
They will perform other duties as needed to achieve program goals and objectives.
Essential Functions Transports clients in a safely manner to and from appointments or programs on schedule Interacts with clients professionally at all times Calls clients on transportation matters Mail runs between office locations Ensure that the vehicles are always fueled and ready for use Conducts and documents regular vehicle inspections Reports mileage and updates mileage records when using a company vehicle Reports vehicle repairs as needed Cleaning, vacuuming, wiping down vehicles Assists in site maintenance Gathers materials for shredding and disposal Fulfill administrative needs, like office deliveries The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Driver reports directly to the Plant Operations Manager.
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program Driver coordinates with other professionals within the agency as well as outside businesses when applicable to transportation or other equipment concerns and other assigned duties.
The employee abides by the code of conduct set forth by the agency.
Desirable Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The employee demonstrates the ability to express themselves well through writing, interpersonal and oral communication skills.
They will demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity to serving culturally diverse and/or special needs population while maintaining patient confidentially.

Experience:
The driver should possess a high school diploma.
Maintain a clean driving record and have a valid driver's license.
The driver, once employed, will attend all required training deemed necessary by the director.
